While superficially fairly humanoid (and are commonly referred to as "space elves"), di'Taykan are a distinct species with a lot of weirdness going on. Their "hair" is actually a sensory organ that moves on its own, their vision and sense of smell is much more acute than a human's, their average height clears six feet comfortably, and, yes, they do have slightly pointy ears. They come in a variety of colors, none of them the sort you'd get from melanin. Nadayki happens to be limey green (yes, his PB is not that because I'm lazy with icons, but work with me), and has immediate family members who are pink and gold. Their biological and social lives are full of interesting fine points I won't go into here.

Most notably, di'Taykan are a highly tactile, extremely social species with a complex and powerful array of biochemical communications. What that means for them is they can read availability, mood, age, health, closeness of relationship, and other information from each other, as well as demonstrate clear readiness for the many forms of contact necessary for their mental health, sex among them. What that means for everybody else? Sex pheromones. Most species react to di'Taykan pheromones with some combination of arousal and attraction and, for some, they really can't help it. As a result, di'Taykan interacting with other species are legally required to wear a pheromone masker that more or less blocks these effects, but it's a fallible piece of technology. Some species or individuals may be especially sensitive or completely immune, who knows.

For default purposes, Nadayki will almost always have his masker all the way up. He's more comfortable that way. But he's a manipulative little shit, the masker could always break or malfunction, and there's potential for a lot of shenanigans. Just to establish a baseline, it'd be helpful to know:

-Do you want your character/s to just be immune/avoid the whole thing?
-Interested in playing with weird reactions or just being sensitive enough to catch the pheromones with the masker on?
-How about Nadayki actively messing with your character/s if the opportunity arises?
-di'Taykan are correspondingly sensitive to other species' biochemical signals, too. Is it okay if he can smell anything about your character's mood or responses?

I generally doubt that anyone's read these books and if they have, that they've paid much attention to a minor antagonist in the last two, but if you have. Also, given Nadi's weird pheromone thing, am I handling that well?
